2023 In Review

As 2023 draws to a close, we’re reflecting on a year marked by exceptional projects. From enhancing accessibility at the Alameda Police Department to the innovative Tiny Cabins Community in San Francisco, G&G has left a mark on communities across the Bay Area. Let's take a closer look at some of the standout projects that G&G worked on this year.

Alameda Police Department

The year kicked off with the renovation of the Alameda Police Department. G&G took on the challenge of increasing accessibility compliance by revamping the exterior ramp and simultaneously upgrading the Reception/Lobby Area to achieve a Level IIIA ballistic rating while meeting accessibility requirements. This intricate project involved the demolition of existing walls, doors, and the reception desk, followed by a meticulous rebuild using ballistic-rated materials and finishes. The result is a modern, secure, and accessible space that aligns with the evolving needs of law enforcement.

Stockton Center for the Homeless

G&G Builders started the year with construction underway at The Stockton Center for the Homeless. In collaboration with the city of Stockton, this $5 million project will be the city's first low-barrier shelter featuring a 24-hour navigation center. Constructed from repurposed shipping containers, the center’s three-story structure is constructed out of 42 shipping containers. Housing 180 beds, the Stockton Center for the Homeless is set to provide essential temporary housing and services to those in need.

Pioneer Park

Nearing completion as the year wraps up, the Pioneer Park project in Novato promises to be a source of joy for the community. G&G Builders has worked to bring this massive playground to life, demonstrating the company's commitment to creating recreational spaces that inspire and captivate. The project reflects G&G's dedication to fostering vibrant community spaces for families to enjoy for years to come.

Tiny Cabins Community in San Francisco

G&G just broke ground on this new Tiny Cabins Community—an innovative project aimed at providing sustainable solutions for individuals experiencing homelessness. Located off of Mission St. in San Francisco, the new community is made up of 65 prefabricated structures of varying sizes manufactured by Boss Cubez, utilizing their high-quality, affordable, and easily assembled prefab structures. The innovative 'built-on-site system' ensures an expedited construction process without compromising quality.

Frederiksen Elementary School

G&G Builders took its expertise beyond public spaces, contributing to the improvement of educational environments. At Frederiksen Elementary School, G&G worked to install basketball hoops and shade structures in the outdoor space. This enhancement aligns with G&G's dedication to supporting educational institutions and fostering active, engaging environments for students.
