Summer Project Wrap-up

2022 has been an incredible year thus far at G&G builders, with more exciting projects underway. As we reflect on our summer projects, we feel incredibly grateful for the opportunity to actively benefit our Northern California cities and the people within them. Here are eight projects we were privileged to be a part of this summer.

Mable Mottos Elementary – Milpitas, CA

To upgrade Mable Mottos’ outdoor facilities, G&G excavated the area and off-hauled the contaminated soil of the elementary school before forming and pouring new concrete curbs and an ADA ramp. We then added new wood fiber surfacing and installed brand-new Playcraft playground equipment.

Anthony Spangler Elementary – Milpitas, CA

G&G installed two ICON gable DSA shelters (30x50x18 and 20x20x8) with gutters and downspouts for a second Milpitas Elementary school.

Clifford DSA Walkway Covers

G&G spearheaded the installation of Valley School Shelter pre-manufactured steel walkway covers (14’ x 23’ and 14’ 27’) with in-ground posts. We then poured back all new gray concrete flatwork.

Burckhalter Elementary – Oakland, CA

In Oakland, G&G demoed and disposed of play structures and rubber tiles at Burckhalter Elementary. We also installed 2,500 square feet of soft surface tiles (50 x 50).

East Oakland Pride Elementary School (TK, Area A 5-12, Area B 5-12)

G&G removed the three existing play structures on site and cleared away all debris. We slurry sealed to repair asphalt on Area A 5-12 and Area B 5-12. Finalizing the project, we installed new play structures and Softiles for matting on all three play areas.

Selby Lane Spanish Immersion School Atherton

To extend the play area of Selby Lane approximately 3,250 square feet, G&G removed and disposed of all wood fiber and soils. We then formed and poured a new 14” x 8” concrete containment curb around the play area, and prepped and compacted the base rock for new poured-in-place rubber.

Lincoln Elementary

Throughout a 3-week process, G&G installed a new playground with artificial turf for the students of Lincoln Elementary.

Mary Bird

For one of our bigger projects, G&G demoed out a complete existing area of Mary Bird, relocating an existing playground and adding more play structures, concrete, asphalt, demo, grading, minor landscaping, and ADA improvements.
