Project Spotlight | The Stockton Center for the Homeless
G&G Builders is starting the new year with construction underway at The Stockton Center for the Homeless. In partnership with the city of Stockton, this $5 million dollar project is the city’s first low-barrier shelter to feature a 24-hour navigation center. What currently appears as a standard building footprint will eventually be a three-story structure built out of shipping containers. With expected completion in July 2023, the center will soon offer temporary housing and services to the Stockton community.
Serving our Community
The center’s three-story structure will be constructed out of 42 shipping containers. Housing 180 beds, the shelter will serve as many as 300 people per night. Sleeping quarters will be accessible via a main staircase and elevator, and will provide residents with on-site bathrooms and a laundry facility. A new navigation center will be accessible 24 hours a day, providing medical and social services to those in need.
Our Partners
The Stockton Center is funded by the City of Stockton, San Joaquin Continuum of Care, and San Joaquin County. This project wouldn’t be possible without our valued industry partners. We are currently working closely with the RPM Team, local experts in design and consulting. Additionally, the team at IMS Builders is lending their expertise in modular container construction to accelerate the building process.
Building a Better Future
At G&G Builders, we are honored to work alongside our community to provide solutions to the homelessness crisis. We look forward to completing the project later this year and continuing to work in partnership with our community.
